The
loDEREK MCINNES
Baggies
No.4
A loan move from Rangers to Stockport, where he played for Gary
Megson, worked very well, and the move would have been made permanent had it
not been for finance. A spell in France with Toulouse was less successful, and
in the summer of 2000, he was persuaded to return to the UK and life at The
Hawthorns where the gritty midfielder was immediately made skipper and he
certainly leads by example. Derek McInnes's season came to a premature end at
home to Wimbledon on 24th October 2000 when a nasty tackle caused cruciate
ligament damage, an injury which saw him sidelined for the rest of the
campaign. However the earlier games have shown he may well already be an
absolute snip at £450,000. Could be one the the best Hawthorns buys for
some time.s |
